PhatHack DMS Tools for Windows

Current Version: 2.10
Last Modified: 26th October 2007

Introduction

The PhatHack DMS tools have undergone a number of guises before the current version you see documented here.

The original DMS tools were Unix/Linux based meaning you had to reboot your Windows based PC from floppy in order to run the tools, or run from a separately installed partition (dual-booting).

Then along came judb with an awesome Windows port of the tools which enabled many of us to run the hacks on our boxes. Unfortunately this came with problems, and some people couldn’t run the batch scripts judb wrote – and it was difficult for non-technical people to get around this problem.

Then came the Windows tools you see before you, written originally by VorTechS with a great deal of input from those who have helped with all versions of the tools. These new tools not only replicate the hack process with reasonable success, but also extend on the work started by the team all those years ago and they are almost a one-stop hacking shop for the PhatNoise PhatBox ©™ or Kenwood Keg ©™

Compatibility

The PhatHack DMS tools have been designed and written to run on most Windows platforms, providing the DMS is recognisable by the operating system. Therefore, in general, these tools should run on just about any modern Windows operating system.

Tests have been conducted on the following operating systems:

  • Windows XP
  • Windows Vista (x86)
  • Windows Vista (x64)

Please check out the known issues list for any advice if you are not able to run the hack tools on your particular operating system, or drop a note in our forums and we’ll do our best to help you get up and running.
